### Centre Manager

5 years with our centre

- Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care

" I aim to create opportunities for children to learn in ways that best suit their personality and stage of development, while focusing on building strong, trusting relationships."

My career in early learning began in 2015, and I have spent my entire journey at G8 Education. I am a First Steps Trainer, responsible for onboarding and inducting new Centre Managers. I began my journey in Great Beginnings Lyndhurst in 2021 as the Assistant Manager before moving to another centre to further develop my experience as a Centre Manager. I was excited to return to this wonderful service in 2025. I am passionate about mentoring fellow educators who share my commitment to providing quality education and care to every child at our Lyndhurst centre.
Throughout my experience in early childhood education and care, I’ve learnt so much from the children themselves. Each child is a unique individual with their own interests, strengths, and ways of learning. I’ve come to understand that we cannot compare one child to another, as every child develops at their own pace and expresses themselves differently. This understanding guides my teaching style, encouraging me to take a child-centred and inclusive approach that values each child’s individuality. I aim to create opportunities for children to learn in ways that best suit their personality and stage of development, while focusing on building strong, trusting relationships and celebrating every moment of growth, big or small.
I believe that play is a child’s natural way of learning about the world and expressing knowledge gained from prior experiences. Our Lyndhurst centre is dedicated to creating an inclusive, non-biased environment where all children can play freely and express themselves creatively, whether through structured or unstructured play. Our team comprises passionate, dedicated, and welcoming professionals. We take pride in having a long-standing team that supports the continuity of care for the children and families we serve.
Families are the cornerstone of our centre, as they are the first teachers in a child’s life. We are committed to building reciprocal partnerships with families, understanding their needs, and working together to achieve their goals for their children. We regularly invite families to participate in events throughout the year, and maintain open communication through weekly emails, monthly newsletters, and more.
I look forward to welcoming your family to our Lyndhurst early learning community.

"I am passionate about supporting children as they settle into the environment, helping them feel safe, secure, and confident in their surroundings. "

I have been part of the team at Great Beginnings Lyndhurst since the very beginning of my career with G8 Education, and have proudly been here since the centre first opened. Over the years, I have developed strong, meaningful connections with both children and their families, which I truly value.
I am passionate about supporting children as they settle into the environment, helping them feel safe, secure, and confident in their surroundings. I enjoy taking the time to chat with families, getting to know them and building trusting, respectful relationships that support each child’s individual needs and development.
Creating a warm, welcoming environment is very important to me, and I always strive to ensure that every child feels a strong sense of belonging. At the same time, I remain committed to maintaining a safe and nurturing space, where children can explore, learn, and grow with confidence.

I am passionate about supporting the entire centre team in their daily practices, guiding and mentoring educators to ensure we are delivering a high-quality program and creating engaging, meaningful learning environments for all children.

## Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Lyndhurst, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

#### Language and early literacy

We actively encourage children to participate by sharing their thoughts, discussing their weekends, and responding to open-ended questions, which helps to build their confidence and communication skills. In our older rooms, we often incorporate “show and tell” activities, giving children the opportunity to present something special, express themselves, and develop self-assurance in front of their peers.

#### Community engagement

We often have visits from local community services in Lyndhurst to help familiarise the children with their local community, and we go out on adventures in our local area to teach the children about their local environment. We partner with Backpacks 4 Kids, a local organisation that provides essential support to children in vulnerable situations.

#### Sustainability

Children learn about caring for the environment through hands-on experiences like recycling, gardening and reusing materials in creative projects. We also explore sustainability through centre initiatives such as recycling programs and planting activities that children can take part in. Educators also introduce ideas of fairness, sharing and community through everyday learning.

#### Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

I am so pleased with great beginnings Lyndhurst. Our son is going there from last 4 years and daughter is going there from 2 years. I can see lot of progress in my kids learning. The staff is incredibly caring, creating a warm environment for the children. They provided a wide range of engaging activities that fostered both learning and play. Safety is top priority. The communication with parents is excellent, keeping parents informed about our child's daily activities and progress via app. I highly recommend this childcare service to any parent seeking a place where their child will be well-cared for and happy!

Great beginnings Lyndhurst is an amazing childcare centre. My daughter went there when she turned 3 and joined the junior kinder room in 2022. She settled in well and loved going there for her learning and playing. Every morning at drop off, we are greeted by friendly and caring management team of either Charmini or Kamal. The staff, the food, the rooms, and the playground are also amazing. My daughter even came back to visit her teacher, Mrs Mandeep after she graduated from the centre. I would highly recommend Great Beginnings Lyndhurst to others and say thanks to the whole team for your fantastic and excellent care.

Great Beginnings Lyndhurst has been amazing for my 3 year old and 1 year old daughters. Moving from another centre when we moved house was hard as there were so many centres around this area. We couldn’t be more happy about the decision we made, from the moment they started they have been nurtured and shown amazing care. Every single educator is so welcoming and makes you feel when your leaving that your children are safe. Even though my 3 year old struggles in the mornings with drop off, the steps they are and have taken to help her feel more comfortable are like no other. They have so many different activities and equipment which is continually being changed to keep the children entertained. Kayla and Brittany the centre Managers are always on top of everything you need to know and ensure that centre is up to an immaculate condition. Could not recommend this centre enough for new families, you will not be disappointed!

## Frequently asked questions

##

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. [Click here to book a tour online.](/book-a-tour)

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

##

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

[Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.](/family-information/how-to-enrol)

##

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

[Learn more about our Settling-in Program.](/family-information/settling-in-program)

##

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

##

Great Beginnings uses Xplor Home as our [family communication app](/family-information/family-communication). It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

##

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Great Beginnings is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
