- Diploma of Children's Services

"As educators, it is our role to guide and encourage children to express themselves in safe and supportive environments, while respecting each child as a unique individual."

I began working in early childhood education in 1999 and joined Great Beginnings Pakenham in 2014. I bring many years of experience across a range of leadership roles within early learning. Since joining Great Beginnings Pakenham, I have worked as a Lead Educator, Educational Leader, Assistant Centre Manager, and now Centre Manager. Each role has given me the opportunity to develop new skills, explore different areas of the sector, and deepen my passion for ensuring children receive the best possible start to their education journey. One of the most rewarding parts of my role is seeing the growth and development of not only the children, but also the families and educators, over time.
Through my career, I have learned that every child is an individual with their own abilities, interests, and personality. As educators, it is our role to guide and encourage children to express themselves in safe and supportive environments, while respecting each child as a unique individual. This belief shapes my approach and underpins everything we do at the centre.
I strive to be open, honest, and approachable with both children and families, while making learning exciting, engaging, and tailored to build on each child’s strengths. When supporting families, I draw on my years of experience to clearly explain the benefits of early childhood education and care and how it complements learning at home.
I am proud to lead a brilliant, dedicated, and long-standing team. They are committed to ensuring every child is respected, cared for, and supported with the resources they need to expand their learning. Building strong relationships with families is a priority for me, and I do this through honest communication, shared understanding, and recognising that families are each child’s primary caregivers whose voices truly matter.
We look forward to welcoming you to our Pakenham community.

## Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Pakenham, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

#### Sustainability

Our sustainability program promotes environmental awareness and responsibility among the children through hands-on experiences with our veggie garden and worm farm. Our Pakenham centre is equipped with 98 solar panels, significantly reducing our carbon footprint and teaching children the importance of renewable energy.

#### Community engagement

We welcome special guests from the local Pakenham community, such as police, the fire brigade, and pet ownership experts, to support children's interests. These visits foster a sense of belonging and help children develop social and observational skills with various people, places, and environments.

#### Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

#### Language and early literacy

Children develop early literacy through storytelling, books, songs and meaningful conversations. Educators support children to explore language in many forms, including speaking, listening, viewing, drawing and writing, while building confidence communicating with others.

I absolutely love walking into great beginnings pakenham each morning, the management team are always so welcoming to all the families, and are always approachable. Also every morning and night walking into my daughters rooms, everyone is always engaged, so many learning opportunities set up across both the indoor and outdoor environments, and the team are always approachable and engaging with the children and parents. Even in the other learning environments, the team are always so friendly and stop at the end of the day, giving a detailed and positive feedback without asking.
A big shout out to all the management and team there, you are all amazing and my family think so highly of each and everyone of you, your all super stars and it really shines through your practices and centre environment ❤️❤️❤️

Given the recent events impacting the childcare industry, I understand many parents are diligently reading reviews to make informed decisions about where to place their children. I wanted to share my experience so others can feel the same confidence and trust that I have in your centre.

To everyone of you at Great Beginnings Pakenham - In these challenging times, you may find yourself questioning every decision and action you make, please don’t. Please know that I trust you implicitly with my child's care. Your unwavering dedication, compassion, and professionalism have always been evident and continue to shine through. You provide a safe, nurturing, and joyful environment where my child thrives. Keep showing up and believing in the incredible work you do—you are making a lasting difference in our children's lives. Your efforts do not go unnoticed and are deeply appreciated.

My eldest progressed with you from nursery through to kinder and is now flourishing in Grade 1. My youngest is currently in Junior Kinder 2 and is thriving. Throughout these years, we've witnessed firsthand the positive impact you've had on their growth and happiness. You've been a constant source of support and guidance in our family's life.

Thank you for everything you do

It is absolutely fantastic! ❤️ I could never trust a centre like I do with GB! I am so thrilled I have found great beginnings. ## Frequently asked questions

##

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. [Click here to book a tour online.](/book-a-tour)

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

##

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

[Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.](/family-information/how-to-enrol)

##

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

[Learn more about our Settling-in Program.](/family-information/settling-in-program)

##

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

##

Great Beginnings uses Xplor Home as our [family communication app](/family-information/family-communication). It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

##

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Great Beginnings is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
