“I enjoy working with children’s highs and lows, guiding their learning, and watching their capable minds achieve anything.”

I’ve been working in early childhood since 2012, when I got my first job in an early childhood service. Since then, I haven’t looked back.

I always knew I wanted to work in a field that could support children. One day, while on placement, I had the opportunity to comfort a child who was new to an early childhood service and extremely upset. I spent two weeks with him, helping, comforting, and assisting him in feeling safe in an unfamiliar environment. By the end of the two weeks, the child was so comfortable that he would kiss his parents goodbye and run straight into the centre, ready to create relationships with peers and engage in different activities. This is when I realised that early childhood was for me.

I love the idea of helping children build great confidence in their early years and being a part of their growth. I really enjoy working with their highs and lows, guiding their learning, and watching their capable minds achieve anything. With experience in children’s party entertainment, I am also great at creating magic tricks, doing face painting, and making balloon animals!

I look forward to welcoming your family to Great Beginnings Mill Park early learning centre and answering any questions you may have.

“My goal is to foster an environment that nurtures curiosity and critical thinking, giving children the confidence to explore their interests, ask questions, and make discoveries at their own pace.”

I am the four-year-old Early Childhood Teacher at Great Beginnings Mill Park. I believe that children learn best through a play-based, child-led environment, where they are provided with the right resources and opportunities to explore, create, and grow. By allowing children to take the lead in their learning, they develop confidence, independence, and a strong sense of agency.

I am passionate about ensuring that every child’s voice is heard, as this creates a positive foundation for their development. Encouraging children to express themselves helps build essential social and emotional skills, allowing them to form meaningful relationships, navigate challenges, and develop resilience. My goal is to foster an environment that nurtures curiosity and critical thinking, giving children the confidence to explore their interests, ask questions, and make discoveries at their own pace.

I value open communication with families and believe that a strong partnership between educators and parents is key to supporting a child’s development. Together, we can create a warm and engaging learning space where every child feels valued, empowered, and excited to learn.

“I believe that when children feel secure and supported, they develop a strong foundation for learning and growth.”

I am an Early Childhood Teacher with a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Teaching. My teaching philosophy is built on the importance of positive relationships – I believe that when children feel secure and supported, they develop a strong foundation for learning and growth.

Building strong, trusting connections with children allows them to confidently explore their environment, develop independence, and engage in new experiences. I am passionate about introducing children to sustainable practices from an early age, as it not only teaches them about caring for the environment but also instils a sense of responsibility and pride in their surroundings. By embedding sustainability into everyday experiences, children learn to appreciate and respect the world around them.

I strive to create an inclusive, engaging, and stimulating learning environment where children feel inspired to discover, collaborate, and develop essential skills. Through play-based experiences, meaningful connections, and hands-on learning, I aim to nurture each child’s sense of wonder and encourage their natural curiosity.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Mill Park, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Sustainability

Our sustainability program includes a loose parts area, where parents donate materials that we creatively reuse in our educational activities. This initiative reduces waste and enhances learning through imaginative play and innovation.

Sports program

Our sports program allows the children to stay active, enhancing their physical health while helping develop their motor skills. By engaging in various activities, children can improve their strength, coordination, and overall well-being.

Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

Cultural responsiveness and inclusion

Children learn about different cultures, languages and traditions through shared experiences that encourage respect, curiosity and a sense of belonging. Educators value and support children’s home languages and ways of communicating, strengthening identity and connection to community.

Age-appropriate early learning

We provide learning experiences tailored to each stage of your child’s development. Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and designed to support children’s wellbeing, confidence and growing independence.

When ever I need anything they are always attentive, warm and welcoming which makes me feel so safe and secure knowing my children are in good hands. I have been here for nearly 3 years and the the staff have build such beautiful relationships with my children which makes me feel so happy knowing my children are happy, given I’ve had bad experiences from a centre prior to coming. For anyone looking for a centre I can’t recommend Great Beginnings enough you will not be disappointed, as the love, care and professionalism they show is above anything.

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Great Beginnings uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Great Beginnings is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
