Centre Manager - Great Beginnings Boronia

“I believe that children can teach us as much as we can teach them.”

My career in early childhood education and care commenced in 2005 and I began working at Great Beginnings Boronia in 2015.

I hold a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and Diploma of Children’s Services. I was a lead educator for seven years working with all age groups before primarily working in management roles since 2011.

I thoroughly enjoy working in early childhood education as not only do I get to be involved in the learning journey of our children but also working with wonderful educators, families, and the community. I love the diversity of people that I get to work with every day and the relationships I get to form with them.

I have learnt that all children are different, and they all have their own learning styles. I believe that children can teach us as much as we can teach them and it is important to spend time just being with them, exploring, playing, and learning alongside them. I aspire to create a learning environment that is warm, nurturing and fun. I believe it is important to encourage a love of learning which will assist each child to reach their full potential.

Our centre aims to provide a home-like environment that is nurturing for the children. We want the children to be confident and involved learners and our service gives them the opportunity to explore and learn and develop positive interactions with their peers and educators. We endeavor to develop positive relationships with our families and work collaboratively with them.

We have a dedicated Workplace Health and Safety officer at our centre who maintains high safety standards of the service to keep all our children safe. Our educators are all trained in First Aid, Anaphylaxis, and CPR. We also do yearly Child Protection training through Bravehearts. We believe it is important to speak up for children and act to protect the children in our care. We believe in providing support to families, so children are kept safe and help make things better.

Our centre provides dedicated and compassionate educators who are available to children and families as required. We have long-serving, multicultural team members who reflect our local community. All our educators work collaboratively to improve practice through team meetings, professional development, and reflection on practice. Our educators are caring and nurturing and provide the children with many opportunities for learning through play.

We have a calendar of events that we create yearly and we invite families to participate in many celebrations. We invite families to the service throughout the year and make time to have parent educator interviews/meetings on request to spend time talking to the families. We have a local community board and provide families with external services if requires.

A fun fact about me is that I love fairy bread and jumping on the trampoline with my children!

The Great Beginnings Boronia team cannot wait to meet your family and take part in this exciting adventure with you.
