Centre Highlights

Spacious and resource-rich environments

Great Beginnings Bunbury provides a nurturing and enriching early learning environment that fosters exploration and curiosity.

The all-weather outdoor environments at our Bunbury child care centre include sandpits, climbing equipment, a vegetable garden and slides. Our outdoor learning program focuses on the development of your child’s strength, balance, and self-confidence. Our indoor learning spaces offer a variety of engaging resources for children to learn and grow. Our experienced educators and teachers use these to design various age-appropriate play-based experiences.

Dedicated and passionate team of educators

Our team of passionate educators and teachers make up the heart of our Bunbury child care centre. Our experienced educators are trained to deliver purposeful teaching and learning experiences through the most effective approaches in early childhood education. Our educators and teachers are passionate about helping every child succeed in discovering their unique identity and become confident, happy and resilient learners.

Play-based early learning curriculum

At Great Beginnings Bunbury early learning centre, we recognise the importance of play in a child's learning and development journey. Our team tailors play-based learning activities in line with national standards, specifically the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), helping prepare them for kindergarten and school readiness.

Our Early Learning Curriculum also provides children with:

  • Real Life experiences: Children participate in fun and exciting experiences such as woodworking, harvesting the veggie garden, caring for our worm farm and basic cooking skills.
  • Sustainability Program: Each age group participates in a sustainability project that help children embed sustainable practices into everyday life. Children learn about recycling, conserving water, growing food, and the importance of looking after and protecting our planet.
  • Music and movement programs: Our music programs have been designed to help develop fundamental skills that help support children’s self-regulation, memory and concentration.
  • Cooking Program: Our in-house centre Chef provides fun and engaging cooking experiences with the children using the veggies and herbs harvested in our very own garden!
  • Sports Program: Our children over 3 have Little Sports program every Wednesday to practice children's motor skills.
  • Community engagement activities: We often have visits from local community librarians, local police, and other community services in Bunbury to help familiarise the children with their local community. We often take the children to the local parks and the oval at the university to play sports and go on nature walks in the Aboriginal trail.
Delicious and healthy meals freshly prepared on site

We provide children with nutrient-rich, fresh and seasonal whole foods created to please even the fussiest of eaters. For variety, our menu rotates every four weeks, with our cook catering to the unique dietary requirements of every child.

Here at Great Beginnings Bunbury, we believe that by encouraging active participation in food preparation, such as growing & harvesting the fruit and vegetables, preparing, and helping cook the meal, children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating.
