“With access to age-appropriate resources, trained educators, and new experiences among friends, we create an environment where children thrive.”

I began my career in Early Childhood Education and Care in 2006. I am passionate about children’s learning and development. Knowing that I have made a positive impact makes every day rewarding.

Our Cranbourne North early learning centre uses play-based learning as the foundation for daily experiences. With access to age-appropriate resources, trained educators, and new experiences among friends, we create an environment where children thrive.

At our centre, children develop curiosity, problem-solving skills, confidence, and resilience through carefully planned play-based activities tailored to their interests and learning goals. Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Cranbourne North, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

Sustainability

We teach children the importance of sustainability by participating in the local Reverse Art Program, maintaining a community clothing rack, composting, and managing a worm farm. Children help care for our gardens, learn to conserve electricity by using natural light, and reuse water from their bottles to nourish our garden beds.

Community engagement

Our nursery children enjoy regular pram walks to a nearby waterway to see the ducks, offering a delightful and engaging outing. We also have a strong relationship with our local school in Cranbourne South, with our Kinder children making regular visits, fostering a sense of community and familiarity as they prepare for school.

Exploration and problem solving

Educators introduce open-ended materials and invitations to explore, such as building, measuring and experimenting. Through shared conversations and investigation, children develop curiosity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Age-appropriate early learning

We provide learning experiences tailored to each stage of your child’s development. Our programs are guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and designed to support children’s wellbeing, confidence and growing independence.

See more Our daughter has been attending the centre since she was 6 months old, and over the past 8 months we’ve been absolutely thrilled with the care, love, and support the entire team has shown her. She has formed wonderful relationships with the educators and is always so happy and excited to go to daycare each day, which, as a parent, is the best reassurance you could ask for. Sam and Tarn are incredibly hands-on and present in the rooms, and their leadership sets the tone for the nurturing environment. The low staff turnover speaks volumes and the educators really get to know each child individually, and it shows in the consistently exceptional care they provide. Communication is another standout. Updates through the app are clear and timely, and at pickup, the team always takes the time to share how her day has been. Even when I check in frequently (which I do!), they’re always kind, responsive, and never make me feel like I’m a bother. We’re so grateful to have found such a perfect centre for our daughter, and we can’t recommend them highly enough.

This childcare is truly exceptional, with loving, professional educators who go above and beyond for every child. Both my daughters attend, and we couldn’t be happier with the care and support they provide. Last year, my eldest daughter’s educator, Lilian, noticed she looked pale compared to other children. Thanks to her observation, we asked for a blood test and discovered my daughter had leukemia. Catching it early made all the difference in her treatment and recovery. Before that, when my daughter was three, she had a seizure at the center, and the team reacted immediately—calling an ambulance, contacting us, and keeping her safe until we arrived. Their professionalism and care gave us so much trust in them. During her treatment, they stayed connected, sending her fun activities to keep her engaged at home. Recently, we visited the center, and my daughter was thrilled to see her friends and educators. They welcomed her with open arms and Sam and Tarn even invited us to the Christmas party and graduation ceremony. Great Beginnings Cranbourne North is more than a childcare center—it’s a safe, nurturing, and loving community. My younger daughter, now three, is excited to join in the new year, and I know she’ll be in the best hands. Thank you to the entire team for everything you do for the children and families in your care—you are truly amazing!

We moved our daughters here at the start of the year and have been nothing but impressed. Sam and Tarn are the most dedicated and friendly managers we’ve come across, and we love how they take the time to form their own special bonds with our girls. Our younger daughter is in the Junior Toddler room, and she adores her daily cuddles with Shabana, Soo, and Danielle. They make her days so enjoyable and are incredibly caring and attentive to all her needs. Our older daughter is in Senior Kinder, and Megan and Kate have been fantastic in helping her settle in after transitioning from her previous child care centre. They go above and beyond to accommodate her needs and ensure she feels happy and secure throughout the day. The food is also exceptional, thanks to Chef Michelle! We have one picky eater who always gets her Vegemite sandwich, while our other daughter loves trying all the great recipes. We couldn’t ask for a better centre to care for our girls and highly recommend Great Beginnings Cranbourne North to anyone looking for a warm and nurturing environment for their children

Frequently asked questions

A centre tour is a convenient way to experience the childcare centre of your choice and meet with our qualified educators at a time that is suitable for your family’s schedule. Click here to book a tour online.

On the day of the tour, you can observe practices and interactions within the centre environment. You’ll be able to see all the rooms and playgrounds, ask the team members any questions you have in mind, and get all the information you need to make the best decision for your child.

Enrolling is simple, and our Family Support Team will guide you through each step.

First, find your local centre and book a tour so you can meet the team and explore the learning environment. If the centre is the right fit and a place is available, you’ll receive an enrolment offer for your child. If a place is not currently available in your child’s age group, we can add your child to the waitlist and keep you updated.

To finalise your enrolment, you’ll complete an online enrolment form through a secure link sent by our Family Support Team. You’ll also need to provide key details and documents, including your child’s birth certificate, Medicare details, immunisation history statement and, if eligible, your Child Care Subsidy details.

Before your child’s first day, you may be invited to attend a Stay and Play session. This gives your child time to explore the centre, meet their educators, and start feeling comfortable in their new environment. Once your paperwork is complete, your child is ready to start their early learning journey with us.

Read our step-by-step guide on how to enrol here.

Starting child care is a big milestone, and a little preparation can help your child feel more comfortable and confident.

Before your child’s first day, you can talk positively about their new centre, explain what their day might look like, and practise small routines such as packing their bag, saying goodbye, washing hands and sitting down for meals. You may also like to visit the centre with your child, meet their educators and ask our team about what to bring on the first day.

When your child starts, our educators will take the time to get to know your child’s routine, interests, comfort items and individual needs. Settling in looks different for every child, so we work closely with families to help children feel safe, supported and ready to learn.

Learn more about our Settling-in Program.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Great Beginnings uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Great Beginnings is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
