Katie Synan
Centre Manager - Great Beginnings Kangaroo Flat
“My teaching philosophy is to create a beautiful, safe and nurturing place for children to be able to grow, create and learn.”
Warm greetings to everyone. My name is Katie, and I have been appointed as the centre manager at Great Beginnings Kangaroo Flat. I have a Diploma in Children’s Services and have been working in the education sector since 2005.
I grew up in my early years in Bendigo and went to school in Kangaroo Flat, so I am extremely excited to be back in the area after relocating back to Bendigo from Melbourne to be closer to family. I love to spend time with those I love and my animals. I have a dog named Ralph and a cat named Wilma.
I pursued a career in early education because I have always had a love for children, which may have come from being part of a big family with 11 of us growing up together.
During my time in early childhood, I have worked as an assistant educator, lead educator, assistant centre manager and centre manager.
My teaching philosophy is to create a beautiful, safe and nurturing place for children to be able to grow, create and learn. I love making a difference in a child’s life in such a positive way.
I believe children are our future, and each child can bring something unique and special to our centre. I aim to help children develop their potential by believing in them as capable individuals assisting in discovering who they are, so they can express their own opinions and nurture their own ideas, enabling them to learn respect, acceptance, and embrace their emerging abilities.
I believe in promoting the environment as the third teacher by creating environments in the classroom with purpose and allowing children to navigate through the experiences with curiosity.
I aim for Great Beginnings Kangaroo Flat to be a home away from home, and I look forward to guiding your child to become the best individuals they can be.
