“When children feel empowered and supported, they become motivated to learn and explore. ”

I’ve been working in Early Childhood Education since 2005, and my journey has taken me through a variety of roles, including Lead Educator, Educational Leader, and Assistant Centre Manager. Now, as the Centre Manager at Great Beginnings Oran Park, I am passionate about leading a team of dedicated educators who share a consistent pedagogy of teaching and learning.

I believe that children thrive when they are given the freedom to make choices in an environment that is both enriching and stimulating. When children feel empowered and supported, they become motivated to learn and explore. As a leader and mentor, my goal is to guide my team in creating experiences that challenge children while remaining achievable, helping them build confidence and a love for learning.

At Great Beginnings Oran Park, fostering curiosity is at the heart of what we do. We place a strong emphasis on building meaningful relationships with our children and their families because we know these connections are vital for development. We also value our relationship with the local community, as it helps children develop a sense of belonging and connection between their home and our centre.

I am incredibly proud of the warm and welcoming environment we’ve created at Great Beginnings Oran Park early education centre. When you visit, you’ll be greeted with a smile and introduced to a space filled with opportunities for your child to thrive. I’m confident you’ll see all the wonderful things we have to offer and feel assured that your family is in caring and capable hands here.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Oran Park, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

Community engagement

We often have visits from local community services in Oran Park to help familiarise the children with their local community, and we go out on adventures in our local area to teach the children about their local environment.

Sustainability

Children develop respect for the environment through gardening, recycling and nature-based learning. Educators also introduce the interconnected aspects of sustainability, including environmental, social and economic, through concepts like fairness, sharing and community.

Language and early literacy

Children develop early literacy through storytelling, books, songs and meaningful conversations. Educators support children to explore language in many forms, including speaking, listening, viewing, drawing and writing, while building confidence communicating with others.

The educators are amazing so caring, patient and genuinely invested in the kids. A special shout-out to the current centre management Miss Alex and Bec who are absolutely fantastic. Their leadership, warmth, and approachability make a huge difference. Communication is always clear, timely, and thoughtful, and we feel very informed and included as parents. The centre itself is beautifully designed, well maintained, and provides a wonderful environment for learning and play. You can tell a lot of care and pride goes into every aspect of the centre. We are so grateful to the entire team at Great Beginnings Oran Park and would highly recommend the centre to any family looking for a supportive, professional, and caring early learning.

She is welcomed every morning she comes in by every educator, even the ones that she does not directly work with. They all greet her by her name which helps for an easier transition at drop off. On the tough days, the teachers have reassured me throughout the day how she is going. They have been attentive to her needs and if there have been any problems, I have always been notified within a timely manner. Aleks and Beth are very helpful with any questions or concerns I may have. If they don’t have an answer right away, they will always take some time to find out further information and reach out once they know more. Can’t wait for my son to start at this daycare in a few months as well!

See more Such an amazing place for young developing minds. The educators are amazing educators and will always go out of their way to help they are so happy and friendly to you with great communication with how your child's day went (good or bad) they work with you in implementing your routines, groundings, family values, views and structures and treat your babies just like their own. Great beginnings is our family away from home and our support network nothing is ever an issue and they are always there with open arms to support you with any struggle or milestone your little one might be trying to achieve. We came here after horror stories from our last daycare and I finally found a place I was happy to leave my precious babies after going back to work full time. My 4 and 2 year old have never been happier for me to leave them each day while I go to work and have amazing stories to tell when they get home every day!!! This is a great place for your babies i cannot fault any room or any staff member! Our family has had nothing but positive experiences and my babies are smashing every goal they have with the help and encouragement of the staff at great beginnings oran park ❤️

The teachers are so caring and have made my daughter feel comfortable. Starting her in daycare was overwhelming as I have never left her, but the teachers have supported us from even before she started, and continue to do so. The management is fantastic too. Aleks and Beth are great with communication and reassurance. We feel so welcomed by Aleks each morning and her energy is contagious. We highly recommend this daycare and will be bringing our future kids here.

Our Family Support Team will add your child’s name to our waitlist if one of our childcare centres is currently full in your child’s age group. We will then contact you as soon as a place becomes available.

We also do monthly check-ins to review availability, and you will receive a text message confirming whether you’re still happy to remain on the waitlist each month. If you would like an update at any point, you’re welcome to reach out on our Web Chat or give us a call.

It’s common for a child to experience separation anxiety when they first start child care. When you’re getting ready to start child care, you can help your child overcome anxieties by visiting the child care service together for a Stay and Play session, and easing into new routines at home.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Great Beginnings uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Great Beginnings is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
