See where great beginnings start at Great Beginnings Parmelia. Our purpose-built long day care and early learning centre provides child care for families living or commuting through Parmelia, Baldivis, Bertram, Orelia and Wellard. Our centre is located just a short 3-minute drive away from Wellard Square and Wellard Village.
As you open the door to our centre, you will be immersed in a world where children are encouraged to explore and learn. Our outdoor environment includes natural flora, a spacious adventure fort and vegetable gardens. This free flow area promotes each child’s physical development allowing them to engage not only with their peers but with their environment. Being outside supports children’s overall health and wellbeing.
Our indoor spaces invite exploration with quality resources and learning experiences. Children wonder, create, and test out their ideas as they play with a range of materials in purposeful play spaces. Our dedicated studio space invites innovative ways of working with unique materials. Project work enables children to visit and work in the studio space over time with peers, educators, and specialists. Project-based learning promotes the integration of learning areas and skill sets as children problem-solve, think critically, and collaborate with others to design, create and evaluate their ideas.
The centre kitchen is at the heart of everything we do. Nutritious meals created daily by our in-house cook who caters to all dietary requirements. Meals are based on the Australian Dietary Guidelines and we offer a 4-week seasonal menu utilising family feedback and recipes from parents.
Your child will have a rotating schedule of specialised programs that our incredible educator team run including yoga, fitness, art classes in our dedicated studio and cooking classes in our meals hub.
We invite special guests and community members to our centre including Communicare who provide health assessments and check-ups. We collaborate with the city of Kwinana and ensure it is maintained and cleaned and we partner with Ashronia Community Services to help provide clothing to those in need. The educators and children go on regular excursions exploring our local community, visiting the Juniper Hilltop Aged Care Facility.
A sustainability philosophy is embedded at our Parmelia centre teaching children to care for the environment. We demonstrate environmentally responsible practices through our very own compost bin and collection station for recyclable plastics and children learn about sustainability practices through our vegetable garden while harvesting food, weeding, watering, and nurturing the environment. Your family will also have the opportunity to take fresh vegetables to enjoy in your home cooked meals.
