“I focus on creating environments where children feel safe, valued, and confident to explore, helping them grow into independent and capable learners.”

I began working in early childhood education in 2010 and joined the centre in 2026. What I enjoy most is building strong, trusting relationships with children and being someone they feel safe with as they learn and grow. In my role as Centre Manager, I also enjoy supporting and guiding educators to create caring, high-quality learning environments.

I believe all children are competent and capable learners who deserve to be treated with kindness, respect, and understanding. Each child comes from a unique family background, and I adapt my approach to support their individual needs, culture, and identity. I focus on creating environments where children feel safe, valued, and confident to explore, helping them grow into independent and capable learners.

When speaking with families, I explain that early childhood education and care supports children to build strong social and emotional skills. In a centre environment, children become more confident in group settings, develop their language and communication, and build independence with the guidance of their educators. Our long-standing, qualified team shares a strong commitment to building meaningful relationships and creating a welcoming environment where children can thrive.

Building strong connections with families is a key part of my role. I take the time to get to know each family and understand their home life, values, and routines. I pride myself on a warm and friendly approach, creating a sense of trust and belonging within our centre community.

Our innovative early learning programs

At our early learning centre in Floreat, our play-based curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), supporting children to learn through play, exploration and discovery.

Social and emotional learning

Children develop a strong sense of identity as they feel safe, secure and supported, building confidence, resilience and a positive sense of self. Through group activities, conversations and play, children learn to interact with others with care, empathy and respect, building positive relationships and friendships.

Community engagement

Children and educators enjoy local excursions to parks, cafes, the library, and tennis courts. We also welcome special guests like local vets, Bunnings staff, and emergency services, tailored to the children’s interests.

Exploration and problem solving

Educators introduce open-ended materials and invitations to explore, such as building, measuring and experimenting. Through shared conversations and investigation, children develop curiosity, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.

Creative Arts

Children express ideas and make meaning using a range of creative experiences, including painting, drawing, drama, dance, storytelling, music and craft activities. These experiences encourage imagination, self-expression and confidence while supporting fine motor development.

The staff are happy, love your child and really have their best interest at heart. There are so many great things about this centre (initiatives like date night where you can have a night of free babysitting while your kids are looked after, coffee machine with takeaway coffee, French lessons) and while these are all lovely, they don’t compete with the high level of care provided by the staff. Happy staff = happy kids!

It’s only took a few weeks for her to adjusted to the educators as they’re so friendly and so kind to my daughter. I just love on how the centre communicate with the parent about thing happening during the day. We’re so happy to find the great daycare for your kids definitely sending my son there as well ❤️

See more My son has been attending great beginnings since he was 10 months old. In that time he has learnt to walk, feed himself, talk, share toys, baby sign language, how to sleep in a place other than his mothers arms and most importantly he has made friends with the other kids. We always get photos of him through out the day with the biggest smile on his face or a mouth full of food. Some would think eating would be his favourite thing to do at daycare. The staff are fantastic, go out of their way to chat about my sons day and how he has been. The Centre itself is in a great location, is well maintained and has pleasing infrastructures in the playground. Since my son has moved to the toddler room it has been a battle trying to get him home in the afternoon as he is too busy playing on the pirate ship. All in all, We could not have chosen a better Centre for our boy and he is loved by his second family at Great Beginnings Floreat.

See more I was very much not ready to return to work and send my little one off to care but alas we have to do what we have to do. Since returning to work the staff have been nothing short of amazing, my girl loves it, she loves her friends, her educators, her room and most importantly (to her) the food. The staff have become our family, and it’s so comforting to know she is loved and cared for. They have learnt all her little quirks and each person has worked to build a relationship with my baby meaning we thankfully have little to no separation anxiety anymore. I love this centre, there is literally no other place I would feel comfortable leaving my daughter.

Most of our child care and early education centres offer nappies and wipes, sunscreen and hats, as well as nutritious meals prepared by our in-house cook. Some centres also provide sheets and formula, so you may not need to remember to pack them.

For nursery children, be sure to bring: nappy rash cream, dummies, bottles and teats, comfort toys or blankets, three spare outfits and spare socks.

For toddlers and preschool or kindergarten-aged children, it’s best to bring: spare underwear, water bottle or sippy cup, sun hat, closed-toe shoes, two spare outfits and spare socks.

Plus, anything else your individual child may need, such as breast milk, a sleeping bag, a comforter or medication.

It’s best to speak to your centre of choice for a full list of everything included.

Great Beginnings uses Xplor Home as our family communication app. It is the best and easiest way to keep track of your child’s day.

After you enrol your child with the centre, you can utilise Xplor Home to book child care days, manage your account, receive the photographs that capture your child’s learning, learn about your child’s progress, as well as keep up-to-date with upcoming centre events and important information.

If your child shows signs of an infectious illness when they arrive at the centre or becomes sick during the day, you may be notified that you need to make alternative arrangements or pick up your child from the centre and keep them home until they are no longer infectious. While we understand that this can be inconvenient, Great Beginnings is committed to maintaining a healthy environment and reducing the risk of infection for all children.

Under the Child Care Subsidy (CCS), families are allowed 42 absence days per child, per financial year. These can be taken for any reason, including public holidays and when children are sick, without requiring families to provide documentation.
