Centre Highlights
Great Beginnings Taylors Lakes child care centre in Keilor is designed to be a home away from home that encourages every child’s exploration. Our state-of-the-art and resource-rich early learning environments have been carefully designed to immerse your child into a world of exploration, curiosity, and learning.
Each learning space extends onto our beautiful outdoor environment, which encourages endless ways and opportunities for play! We have three beautiful, shaded outdoor environments. Each outdoor space features various play equipment and a large sandpit designed for children to safely develop their strength, balance, and self-confidence through play. Our dedicated art space is designed for children to express their creativity. We utilise our vegetable gardens for our sustainability program. Our kindergarten yard also features a bike track, a water play area and a slide.
We offer purpose-built indoor spaces filled with natural light and engaging recourses. Each play space is carefully designed and implemented based on children's current interests and learning goals to provide a stimulating and engaging environment.
Our team of passionate educators and teachers make up the heart of our Keilor child care centre. Our experienced educators are trained to deliver purposeful teaching and learning experiences through the most effective approaches in early childhood education. Our educators and teachers are passionate about helping every child succeed in discovering their unique identity and become confident, happy and resilient learners. We are a multicultural early learning centre with 9 languages spoken across our team.
Play is essential to every child's learning and development. It enables children to make decisions, learn, take risks, and have fun. At our Keilor child care centre, our experienced educators plan play-based learning activities in line with national standards. The Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) is designed to engage in your child’s interests and allow them to experience each day in a new way, supporting their learning in the lead-up to primary school.
Our Early Learning Curriculum also provides children with:
- Real Life experiences: Children participate in fun and exciting experiences such as woodworking, harvesting the veggie garden, caring for our worm farm and basic cooking skills.
- Sustainability Program: Each age group participates in a sustainability project that help children embed sustainable practices into everyday life. Children learn about recycling, conserving water, growing food, and the importance of looking after and protecting our planet. Our service has a designated sustainability garden where the children are encouraged to plant. Children help us take care of our centre chickens. We also encourage families to bring recycled materials to our sustainability station to engage our children's imagination to learn and create.
- Sports program: We provide the children with a weekly sporting program at no extra cost.
- Community engagement activities: Our children go on weekly explorations into our Keilor community. We are always looking for new and exciting ways to engage with our local community.
We provide children with nutrient-rich, fresh and seasonal whole foods created to please even the fussiest of eaters. For variety, our menu rotates weekly and changes seasonally, with our cook catering to the unique dietary requirements, allergies and religious needs of every child. We frequently reflect on our centre menu based on the feedback provided by families and children.
Here at our Keilor early learning centre, we believe that by encouraging active participation in food preparation, such as growing & harvesting the fruit and vegetables, preparing, and helping cook the meal, children learn to appreciate and understand the importance of healthy eating.
We look forward to partnering with you and your family to provide information, support, and high-quality early education and care in your child’s formative years. Book a tour to meet our early learning team, or contact our Family Support Team to start your journey with us today.
