Centre Manager - Great Beginnings Victoria Park
“I believe in allowing children to feel safe and secure enough to take chances, make their own decisions and build confidence. ”
My early learning career started in 2008. I joined the team at Great Beginnings Victoria Park in 2023. I hold a Diploma in Children's Services.
I started my career in early education as a young trainee, and I enjoyed being a part of children's growth and development from such an early age. Becoming such a familiar face to them where they seek comfort and guidance only pushed me to study further and know more about how our young people become their own person and contribute to the world around them.
I have observed so many skills and abilities being learned through unintentional play and through trial and error. I believe in allowing children to feel safe and secure enough to take chances, make their own decisions and build confidence. Filling and surrounding the children with encouragement, positivity and a sense of belonging is a great way to support children on their learning and life journey.
Birth to early childhood is a vital stage where so many milestones are reached, life skills are learnt, emotions and connections are developing, and their little minds are like sponges. This is where the foundations are set for lifelong learning.
My team work together to provide high-quality care for all our children. We use our strengths to enhance learning and development. Each educator is there to support inclusivity and allow our children to thrive in an environment where we celebrate them. Our educators generally naturally possess care and compassion along with in-depth knowledge of our sector.
We acknowledge that families are the children's first educators. We involve families in all we do, and we build trusting relationships through communication and work alongside families with respect and inclusivity. Connections between families and educators are so important to make sure we all have a shared goal for the children in our care.
